I just thought I would post a few links to some testimonials for My Digital Studio by some graphic designers/traditional scrapbookers who are not Stampin' Up! Demonstrators! I think if someone who has the expensive software available to use and thinks that My Digital Studio 2 is wonderful, that's saying something! If you are out there saying, "Well, I already have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements or another program" you might want to give Stampin' Up! a try. Try our 30-day free trial and see if you think it's just as good or even better (or at least more fun) to use than what you have! You have nothing to lose! No wasted product, no piles of cardstock, no inky fingers!! Contact me for more information!

Download Tuesday and Trunk-or-treating Demonstrator
Day 2 of Digital Scrapbooking Day, uh week, celebrations (they just need to change it to Dig. scrapbooking week!) If you didn't get your FREE downloads, you can still get them (they can be used for My Digital Studio and other photo editing programs, as with most of our downloads), just go to Mydigitalstudio.net for your FREE downloads! Also, most digital kits are 50% off! And since it's Tuesday, of course we have our regular downloads. I like the bows!
Last night we had our Trunk-or-treat for Family Home Evening and I didn't know what to go as, so as normal, my last minute mind came up with the best thing I could be--A Stampin' Up! Demonstrator! I had my bag with catalogs, tools, and I even had a stamp for the kids as they came around for candy! I could keep track of all the kids who came around for the 2nd and 3rd time for candy! I only have one picture of me and it's pretty crazy, I was trying to photo bomb my friends and got caught, so I kind of have psycho eyes! Do you have lots of Trick-or-treaters where you live? Do you just go to a venue like a mall or a trunk-or-treat? What's your favorite costume this year? I'd love to hear from you!

Honorable Mention
Wow, I'm honored to be mentioned! ;) My Neon heart card was given an honorable mention on MyDigitalStudio.net! How exciting! It was fun to play with bright, neon colors but my card had very little color on it, just a pop! It's fun to find inspiration on Pinterest and from many other creative blogs and websites! On to the next challenge, but I have to wait until Monday--the start of celebration for Digital Scrapbooking day! Come learn more about My Digital Studio 2 on Tuesday or even check out my videos!

Thankful Thursday
Today I am thankful for dependable transportation! I have to take my car into the shop to make sure the engine mounts are not broken! In the early part of our marriage and time here in Vegas, we lived with one car! I would have to get up early, get Erik up and put him in his car seat and take David to work and then pick him up in the afternoon. We also had a time when one of our cars broke down completely and we sold it for cheap--again only one working car! It really makes you appreciate the fact that we have the blessing of modern transportation! Can you imagine how long it would take to go to Costco with a horse and buggy? It's only 5 miles away and it would take probably 6 hours after your buggy was loaded down! I'm glad to be born in a day when we have so many choices and modern conveniences!!

Neon
ne•on-a chemically inert gaseous element occurring in small amounts in the earth's atmosphere, used chiefly in a type of electrical lamp. Symbol: Ne; atomic weight: 20.183; atomic number: 10; density: 0.9002 g/l at 0°C and 760 mmpressure.
This weeks MyDigitaStudio.net challenge is Neon! It takes me back to the 80's and the day-glow clothes we would wear (don't forget the matching scrunch socks with your white Keds!!) Anyway, after last week's disappointment (I thought for sure I would at least have an honorable mention), I have pulled myself up by my bootstraps and tried again (I guess I'm a glutton for punishment!) so here's my entry!
Make sure you go to MyDigitalStudio.net and "like" my cards. Get your own free 30-day trial of My Digital Studio 2 on my website and you can enter next weeks challenge!

Boys Weekend!
Back in August, my son asked for a trip to Six Flags Magic Mountain for his birthday! Well, if you've been to California in August you know that it is not the best time to stand in long lines, so the boys planned to go when it got a little bit cooler. Well, they packed up and left on Thursday and the spent all day Friday at the park. They had so much fun! My boys LOVE thrill rides, so they were totally in their element! One scary thing that happened is that on Riddler Revenge as they were standing in line it was getting so hot (surrounded by corrugated metal, the ac wasn't working, AND the line was moving very slowly) that a lady actually passed out! Wow! My son was completely drenched because it was so hot, which also contributed to his blisters later. Other than that, they had a fabulous time and Erik said it was the funnest trip ever! David's favorite ride was Tatsu and Erik's favorite ride was Scream (yikes!). I'm glad I stayed home! It was foggy in CA, plus it was "Fright Fest" so they added fog machine fog! How's that for ambiance? Here's the highlights!
Do you have a favorite amusement park ride? I love "Pirates of the Caribbean"!

Homecoming 2012
Well, we've had a fun-filled weekend and as promised, I will fill you in on the excitement! My daughter's high school homecoming was this weekend and she had a friend from Utah who asked her to go! After hours of dress shopping and not finding anything worth trying on (I'm sorry folks, those are not dresses, they're strips of fabric!!) we finally found a darling lace dress! We (meaning my friend, Peg) added a bit of fabric to the bottom so it wasn't so short and she picked navy blue as an accent in a sash and a necklace. She was thrilled with the final product! Her friend Nate picked her up and we all went to the JW Marriott for a few pics, then on to dinner with some friends and then to the dance! They had a great time and they both looked so great! Here's some of the pictures!!
Doesn't it look like fun? Tomorrow I'll fill you in on my boys--they had an exciting weekend, too!

Start the Sabbath
The fall is perfect here in Vegas and I see just the hint of color in some of the leaves (leaves change a lot later here!) We've had a wonderful weekend so I will be posting all about the fun--stay tuned!
Have a beautiful Sabbath! Enjoy the Mormon Tabernacle Choir as they sing "Lord, I would Follow Thee".

Firm Foam Ink Pads--Stampin Up! video
If you haven't tried our new firm foam ink pads, you need to! It's a great update to a classic crafting tool! Our old pads had a fabric cover on them and you had to press a little bit harder to get the stamp all inked up. The new firm foam pads are smooth and give you a much better image, but for those of us who have been stamping for a few years, it's hard to get out of the habit of pressing your stamp into the pad! Think the scene with the librarian in "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade"! Ok maybe not that bad, but you get the picture!! This video shows how you just need a light touch for our new firm foam ink pads--maybe you can do better than I'm doing! ;) If you want to try out the new ink pads, I have some free time set aside on Tuesdays, so contact me to make an appointment, or schedule your own workshop!
So, I'm headed to the Quick Care (is that an oxymoron?) for my foot-some people are concerned that I haven't had a tetanus shot in a while (MOM!) and I don't want to freak them out any more than they already are about my health! I'll update soon! *UPDATE* Well, amazingly it was pretty quick--45 minutes in and out! They won't have to amputate, but I did get a Tdap booster and I think my arm is more sore than my foot! Great!

Thankful Thursday
I have so many blessings in my life but all that I have is because of who I am and whose I am! I am thankful every moment to my Heavenly Father who knows me and loves me and trusts me to raise His children! I am also thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ who has given me something to live for--eternity with my family! It is through him and his atoning sacrifice that I am saved, and I try to live my life each day to show him how grateful I am for a debt that I can never repay!

Boo! Printable
Since I'm not doing much today (see earlier post) I thought I would make something to make me smile! I have a white frame and I need (yes, need) something to go in it! Something fun, bold, bright and cool! We have modern tastes here, so though I love lots of styles, most of my decorations are very contemporary. I have been playing with the punch editor tool (who doesn't love that?) in My Digital Studio 2 and came up with some fun new punches, but I thought it would be easy just to make a little ghost. He's pretty cute, don't you think? The DSP is Wicked Fun and the "BOO!" is from Spooky Bingo Bits stamp brush set. Oh, and thanks to Martha Inchley having her smarty pants on, I added dimension with my little "swoosh" punch. Please feel free to use this in your own home!

No good deed...
Yeah, we all know how that saying ends! As I was setting up the chairs after New Testament class at church, I went to pull the huge 30 foot tall partition doors and caught my foot under it! Ouch! It didn't start to bleed right away, but I could tell I had done some pretty good damage by the indentation left behind. I hobbled down to the bathroom clear in the back of the church and as I did, the blood started slowly dripping down my foot. I was able to clean up the blood and I hobbled all the way back to the front of the church where luckily my son was waiting for me with the car. Not sure I would've been able to drive myself home!! So, to make a long story short, I have my foot cleaned, smeared with Neosporin, covered with gauze and hoping that I don't need stitches. Moral to the story: Look both ways when you cross the chapel overflow or you'll run over your own foot with a huge door! (my foot is not swollen, I just had it turned sideways to get a better picture--sick, eh?)
Tomorrow is another day!!

Download Tuesday--Oct. 16, 2012
Tuesday's here! That means new downloads for My Digital Studio! A holiday baking/gift giving set, a cute "what I'm thankful for" list, an all in one Christmas card/envelope template, and a funny, snarky couple's coupon book template! My favorite one is "Approval to change my craft room into a man cave* (Yeah, like that's ever gonna happen!)" These are all available on my website, so go to the "shop now" button and look for "My Digital Studio".
Which one do you like?

Phewwwwww!!!!
Yesterday, Sunday, was a beautiful day! It was the culmination of 10 months of practice and teaching for the young children from our church! The children from 3-11 (called Primary) have been working the last few months to get ready for the Primary Presentation. All year, our focus has been "Choose the Right". Their presentation was given during our main worship meeting, or sacrament meeting. They sang and spoke (all 48 of them!) for their families, friends, and neighbors! It was delightful to watch each one of them walk up to the podium and say their part, many memorized! Through their words and music, they testified of their Savior! Even the little 3/4 year olds or Sunbeams gave their part without showing any fear! They sang their little hearts out and captured the congregation with their beautiful, sweet spirits! I felt like a proud momma of all her little children! And as the president of the Primary, I know I couldn't have done it without my wonderful counselors and secretary, not to mention the music leader and the teachers of these young children! They have been so supportive and I am grateful for their willingness to serve! Now that the "Primary Program" is done, we can relax a little bit and have some more fun! Yay! I know why the Savior commanded us to become like little children--they are just wonderful! What an honor!

My Digital Studio 2 video--iphoto import
I know a few people have been wondering how to import your photos into My Digital Studio 2 from iphoto on a Mac, so I thought I'd do a quick video just to show how it's done. It goes a bit fast, but I think you can see how to do it easily! As always, if you have questions, please let me know, I will do my best to help! Have a great weekend!

My Digital Studio 2 video--Freeform line dotted circle
It's been such a dark and cloudy day today, so I thought I should finish up a few videos that I had been working on! In today's video I used the Freeform line feature to make a cute dotted circle for my scrapbook page. Now, we do have a few dotted circle stamp brushes, but this feature gives you the option to make your "dots" any size or you could even use squares or hearts, whatever you happen to have in your font collection (can you see where I'm going with this?) This is such a fun idea, I just had to share it with you! I apologize, I did skip through this pretty fast, so if you're a beginner, check out the designer series card video with a few basic steps. If you have any other questions, please leave a comment and I will get back to you as quickly as I can. Well, I see a break in the clouds, I better go get my mail before the next round of storms hit! (yay for the rain!!!) Enjoy the video!

Halloween swap cards
Since I've been home from convention in July, I have been to a couple of demonstrator gatherings and when Stampin' Up! demonstrators get together, they SWAP! Each demonstrator makes several of the same card and swaps them with other demonstrators for their cards! When you get home, you have all different cards done by different people with different stamps and supplies--doesn't that sound great? I am going to post a few of my favorites in the next few days, I want to give credit to the card maker, so if the info is on the back I will share it, if you recognize a card that doesn't have info, please leave me a comment and I will add it!
