We Create Blog Hop--You Go, Ghoul!

Hi everyone! I don't know about you, but I am still wondering where March went. Is it October already? I love decorating for Halloween (as much as one can love getting out all the boxes and going through all the crap I put back last year that I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep...) I have several decades worth of decorations that I seem to add to every year. Please tell me I am not the only one!! Anyway, I love to make fun decor items with my products because, really, we just have some of the best Designer Series Paper around! Like, it really can just be framed all by itself and it would look amazing! I used our Magic in the Night DSP (which is on sale this month!!) and the Playful Alphabet dies with the Foam Adhesive Sheets to make this fun framed art. The ghost is just an oval die with some small hole punches for the eyes. I also colored come rhinestones and linen thread with my Basic Black Stampin' Blend marker for some texture. Finally, a little touch of sparkle from the Black Glitter paper sets everything off nicely. It was a fun project and you could do a few of them to give to friends or family.

The blog hop continues to Kimberley! Make sure you leave nice comments, they are always appreciated.

We Create Blog Hop--Step It Up October!

Well, before I get to the fun project for today, I just have to share something I think is amazing!  Last week my husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary!! I know, can you believe it?  I'm so not old enough to celebrate 25 years of married bliss (ok, yes I am) but in truth, we have been a couple for 26 + years and I am more in love with him today than all those years ago.  In an age where temporary and convenient is the norm, having someone who has promised to love me for eternity as well as making that covenant with God, makes me try harder to be a better person.  Marriage takes a lot of work and both people need to give all they have to that relationship.

Well, enough of these lovebirds!!

It's time for Halloween! And Stampin' Up! has some absolutely adorable Halloween stamps, paper and accessories in the Holiday Catalog.  I have this super cute set for today's project:
This set actually has a Framelit set that goes along with it, which also includes a "BOO!" Framelit for fun!
This is the original version.  I used the Fry Box Bigz die  and the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper and then also used the scallop die from the Circle Card Thinlits die for the tag.  Fun for a party favor or a treat for your neighbor kids (not all trick-or-treaters, just the special ones!!)  I found these cinnamon roll pretzels at Winco--yum!  This is a simple, cute idea that you really can use for anytime, just change out the paper and stamps and go!
Here is the stepped up version!  Don't you just love the Black Glimmer paper?  It is beautiful in person!  I took my Heart punch from the Itty Bitty punch pack and punched out 6 hearts and glued them to the inside of the box for a scalloped edge, added the BOO! and the cute jack-o-lantern and then I took a Vintage Faceted Designer button and inked it with the new Basic Black Archival ink pad and glued it on my spider! So fun!!  I love the look of the Glimmer paper!! I love to add a bit of sparkle whenever I can.
Time to check out what Tanya has stepped up this month!

I'm getting all my decorations out for Halloween, how about you? I love fall!

MDS Blog Hop--Bats, Cats and Witches Hats

Fall is here and the holidays are right around the corner!  First up is Halloween, which is my 2nd favorite holiday, right behind Christmas.  I love to decorate for fall...the colors are so beautiful and warm and I am getting a little antsy to decorate now (I am still holding out on 'indian summer', I don't want it to get cold too soon).  Here is a fun new printable I made for Halloween, fun for little kids and big kids and everyone in between.
Download
Make sure you check out the other Halloween printables on my blog, they are linked to  Box.com so they are easy to download and print. This was so easy to make with MDS, my hardest decision is usually what font to use!  Go ahead and try the 30-day free trial and give it a shot!  I'm sure you could come up with something fabulous!

Time to hop through the rest of the bloggers to see what everyone is working on.  Enjoy!

I have been able to see some great fall colors lately (a few weeks early here), I will share some of my photos next week and some new apps I've been playing with, so check back!

MDS Blog Hop Halloween iPhone Fun!

Welcome to the *NEW* MDS Blog Hop!  Many of you have come from one of my bestie Jeanna Bohanon's blog--isn't she amazing? I always love what she creates! Are you as hungry as I am? Mmmmmmm!!!  As many of you know, I was asked a few months ago to join these talented ladies along with my friend, Cori Kozak, and now we've also added Elizabeth Rush to the line up so that there are now 10 of us "hoppers"!  Woot Woot!  If you add it up, that's more than 20 digital projects each month to inspire and motivate you to create with My Digital Studio.  Each month we will have our theme week on the 2nd Thursday and "what we're working on" week on the 4th Thursday, so there'll be plenty of fabulous ideas throughout the month.  And for those of you who may have missed any particular hop during the month, you can always visit our Pinterest page where we will post each project for you to pin to your heart's content.  We hope that our blog hop will encourage you to create your own projects with MDS.

Now, on to my projects!
My theme was Halloween, and since it's right around the corner, I made some fun iPhone lock screen wallpaper to enjoy whenever you turn on your phone (you know you do it several times a day!!)    Here's what they look like on my iPhone 5:

We Create Blog Hop--Fall Fun

It doesn't seem that it should be October already!  I feel like the holidays are going to creep up on me again and as always I won't be ready. Does that happen to you?  When I was at Target a few weeks ago, I was looking at the wall of Christmas lights thinking "Does it really take 3 months to put your Christmas lights up?"  My brain can only focus on one holiday at a time, so this month it's Halloween--YAY!!! If you have followed my blog at all you know that I have a passion for printables.  In fact, I think some of my very first digital projects were Halloween printables, so I say, why mess with a good thing, right?
Download
I've got to look for a perfect frame for this and when I find one, I will post a photo.  Make sure you check out the other Halloween printables on my blog and then hop right on over to see what darling fall project Michelle has come up with this month.

Never too early...

...to start thinking of Halloween, right?  I figure since the stores are already putting out their Halloween decorations, so can I!  This is one of the sets I received at convention called Tags 4 You and you can get it with a bundle that comes with the stamp set at the coordinating punch for only $26.95 for the clear mount stamps, that's a savings of 15% over buying them separately!
I hope you can see that I embossed the stamp using black embossing powder and added the Basic Rhinestone Jewels which I colored with a black Sharpie marker.  The background is all done with Gorgeous Grunge.  I punched a small circle of Glimmer paper and glued it behind the Vintage Faceted designer button.
I took some White Baker's twine and colored it with the Old Olive marker then I lightly misted it with water so that the color saturated the twine--that is a fun way to get colors to coordinate with your project.

Are you ready  for Halloween? It's just around the corner!

Download Tuesday and Trunk-or-treating Demonstrator

Day 2 of Digital Scrapbooking Day, uh week, celebrations (they just need to change it to Dig. scrapbooking week!)  If you didn't get your FREE downloads, you can still get them (they can be used for My Digital Studio and other photo editing programs, as with most of our downloads), just go to Mydigitalstudio.net for your FREE downloads!  Also, most digital kits are 50% off!  And since it's Tuesday, of course we have our regular downloads.  I like the bows!

Freehand Phrases stamp brush set
Last night we had our Trunk-or-treat for Family Home Evening and I didn't know what to go as, so as normal, my last minute mind came up with the best thing I could be--A Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!  I had my bag with catalogs, tools, and I even had a stamp for the kids as they came around for candy!  I could keep track of all the kids who came around for the 2nd and 3rd time for candy!  I only have one picture of me and it's pretty crazy, I was trying to photo bomb my friends and got caught, so I kind of have psycho eyes!  Do you have lots of Trick-or-treaters where you live?  Do you just go to a venue like a mall or a trunk-or-treat?  What's your favorite costume this year?  I'd love to hear from you!

Boo! Printable

Since I'm not doing much today (see earlier post) I thought I would make something to make me smile! I have a white frame and I need (yes, need) something to go in it!  Something fun, bold, bright and cool!  We have modern tastes here, so though I love lots of styles, most of my decorations are very contemporary.  I have been playing with the punch editor tool (who doesn't love that?) in My Digital Studio 2 and came up with some fun new punches, but I thought it would be easy just to make a little ghost.  He's pretty cute, don't you think?  The DSP is Wicked Fun and the "BOO!" is from Spooky Bingo Bits stamp brush set.  Oh, and thanks to Martha Inchley having her smarty pants on, I added dimension with my little "swoosh" punch.  Please feel free to use this in your own home!

Halloween swap cards

Since I've been home from convention in July, I have been to a couple of demonstrator gatherings and when Stampin' Up! demonstrators get together, they SWAP!  Each demonstrator makes several of the same card and swaps them with other demonstrators for their cards!  When you get home, you have all different cards done by different people with different stamps and supplies--doesn't that sound great?  I am going to post a few of my favorites in the next few days, I want to give credit to the card maker, so if the info is on the back I will share it, if you recognize a card that doesn't have info, please leave me a comment and I will add it!

Who doesn't like a little chocolate?

Sometimes you just need a little bit of chocolate! (Sometimes you need a lot of chocolate!) This is just a small favor to give to your friends/neighbors/relatives/whoever!  You are going to want to order these cute little cello bags!  They are so much fun to fill with Pixie Stix, chocolate candies, pencils, pens, licorice, jelly beans, whatever you can think of!  They are 1 x 8 and have a self-closing flap, but here I just added a tag and a little bit of baker's twine to finish it off!  The owl and the "Bone Appetite" is from the Monster Munchies stamp set and was stamped on the cello bag with Stazon ink--a must for stamping on cellophane, plastic, wood and even ceramic!  Go ahead, have a little bit of chocolate...it's good for you!

Spider Cider Tag

This is a project I did at my last class!  It was very simple and used a few fun tools, especially the Big Shot!  It uses the Two Tags die and the Spider Web embossing folder.  We also used the Simply Scored to make our cute little rosette behind the stamped image (this one is a little smaller than the others) and the ladies got to use our new silicone craft sheet and a glue gun to glue our rosette down! (Crafters, you need one of these!) The stamp set is Monster Munchies and I added a couple Googlies to the eyes! The Spider Cider stamp was stamped in Tangerine Tango and then colored with a Basic Black marker. Last thing was to use the 1 3/8 inch circle punch to make the hole to go over the bottle!  We had a choice of IBC root beer or cream soda!  These would be fun at your Halloween party!

Trick-or-treat printable

I am planning on doing a few more videos for My Digital Studio 2, but until they are done, I have more Halloween projects!  This project can be framed in a square frame and you could even print a few and cut out some of the squares and pop them up with some Stampin' Dimensionals and add brads or rhinestones!  When I find my square frame, I will post a photo!  My Digital Studio 2 is available as a free 30-day trial, so you have nothing to loose!  Click "shop now" and "digital crafting" for your downloadable trial! As always, this is for personal use only!

Merry Christmas...and a mummy card!

Are you ready for Christmas?  I am so NOT!  But Stampin' Up! wants you to start getting ready with their October special!  If you purchase 1 of 2 bundles you will receive the Festive paper piercing pack for FREE!  Make sure you check my demonstrator website for more details!  Also, for a limited time, you will be able to purchase single clear-mount stamps from 3 word stamp sets!  They will not come with a clear block and will arrive in a cello bag not the regular DVD sized case that our clear-mount sets come in.  If you would like extra DVD/stamp cases, please let me know! The stamp sets are listed below!
Single Stamps: Word Play
Single Stamps: Perfectly Penned
Single Stamps: Seasonal Sayings

Now back to Halloween!  I made this card with the same paper I designed for my mummy card from convention and Jill's get together.  It was done using My Digital Studio and sent to Stampin' Up! for printing.  It is a 5 x 7 trifold card and I put the tag punch shape on each panel of the card and filled it with my "mummy paper" on one side and Frightful Sight DSP and Wicked Cool stamp brushes on the other and when I received it from the printer, I trimmed around the tag shape.  It is a card AND a home decor item!  My mummy paper is made using the torn edge stamp brush copied and flipped with a drop shadow, the eyes are just circle punches with a black mat and dropped shadow.  It does take some time so have something else to do while you're waiting for it to load (it has several layers!!) and then save it as a .jpg file so you don't have to wait for all the layers to load each time you open it.  My Digital Studio 2 may make it easier to do the strips by grouping and copying, I may have to try it!  And speaking of My Digital Studio 2, please check for a new update (under help on your menu) and today is Digital Download day--see the new downloads here!
