Here's my entry for this weeks MDS Monday challenge and Mydgitalstudio.net challenge.

MDSM 7 sketch

This weeks MDSM sketch is pretty basic, but I made just a few changes.  Digital scrapbooking is still a struggle for me, but it's better when I have a sketch to work from.  The Mydigitalstudio.net challenge is "free fonts" and I used two free fonts on this page.  The first one is Simply Glamorous and the second one is CK Jot.  I also used Natural Composition overlay (one of my favorites), stitching from Downtown Grunge, brads, Urban Oasis DSP, Urban Garden DSP, satin ribbon, flag from A Split Second.  I used the My Digital Studio color combo selector and because Livvi was wearing her Real Red dress, I clicked on Real Red and this combo was one of the options. 

This was my son's very first dance.  They had a great time at the dance and went and played glow in the dark dodge ball after the dance (each couple had matching "glow" shirts).  Too bad they didn't have any photos of that, they said they had a blast!!

Birthday Card, Take 3

I took a bit of a break from challenges for a few weeks, but this week I decided to hit two birds with one stone and do a challenge birthday card.  The Mydigitalstudio.net challenge was Sale-a-bration 2013, using any of the FREE products available during SAB.  I made it a birthday card because of my birthday month, this month.  The ribbon, button, DSP, and "Happy Birthday" stamp brush are all from the One Big Sale-a-Bration disk and the Honeycomb overlay is available in the Twitterpated digital kit.  I love the colors of the Sycamore Street DSP, don't you?

Twirling

New MDS Monday challenge, and I'm getting into the swing of things.  I found a cute photo of my daughter and her BFF, Katie twirling.  This was not a new thing for them, but the photo in their matching baptismal dresses was very special.  And the sun glare on the lens gives it a "heavenly" glow.  I wish I could say that I planned it that way, but I'm really not that good, it was a complete accident!  I CASE'd (copy and share everything!) a cute layout from Pinterest--I just LOVE the string of hearts!

Creative Journal Challenge

This week's Mydigitalstudio.net challenge is a creative journal challenge.  Did you know that you can make a beautiful, personalized journal with My Digital Studio?  Well, you can!  They are hard-bound with lined pages and they are great for gifts, but you can make one just for you, which is what I did.

I saw the leaf pattern idea on Pinterest and I used My Digital Studio to make it the style and color I wanted, then I added the cute Timeless Taffeta ribbon (recolored), Twitterpated button (recolored), the tag punch, the baker's twine (which I cropped), and finally the Downtown Grunge frame, Natural Composition overlay and text.  I like the way it turned out!  Make sure you try the 30-day free trial for My Digital Studio!

I used Here & There Designer Series Paper, Nursery Necessities sailboat, round scallop punch, circle punch, freeform line (welcome baby, dots).

Honorable Mention

Wow, I'm honored to be mentioned! ;)  My Neon heart card was given an honorable mention on MyDigitalStudio.net!  How exciting!  It was fun to play with bright, neon colors but my card had very little color on it, just a pop!  It's fun to find inspiration on Pinterest and from many other creative blogs and websites!  On to the next challenge, but I have to wait until Monday--the start of celebration for Digital Scrapbooking day!  Come learn more about My Digital Studio 2 on Tuesday or even check out my videos!

This weeks MyDigitaStudio.net challenge is Neon!  It takes me back to the 80's and the day-glow clothes we would wear (don't forget the matching scrunch socks with your white Keds!!)  Anyway, after last week's disappointment (I thought for sure I would at least have an honorable mention), I have pulled myself up by my bootstraps and tried again (I guess I'm a glutton for punishment!) so here's my entry!

Fancy Frames download!

I love the new Fancy Frames download!  The frames are so cute for all sorts of applications, they look so real!  This is a card that I made for the weekly MyDigitalStudio.net challenge, which was using any of the September 2012 downloads.  I love the polka dot DSP from Howlstooth and Scaringbone--one of my favorite Designer Series Paper!  The color combination is Basic Gray, Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, and Very Vanilla.
