We Create Blog Hop--Happy Holidays!!

Gosh! I kind of want to cry that December is here already! I love the holiday season, but this year has been so crazy that I am sad that this year has just disappeared before our eyes! I am hopefully optimistic for 2021, but I also believe that we are not quite out of the woods yet...

I hope that my project can help you with an easy way to decorate your home for the holidays! And honestly, you can even use cardstock or other paper you might have lying around in your stash (I see you, paper hoarders!!) I made these cute little trees with 3 different DSP patterns from the July-Dec mini catalog along with the Stitched Triangle dies from the Annual catalog. I used Feels Like Frost, Plaid Tidings and Brightly Gleaming DSP for these projects. These are so easy to put together, you could make a whole forest of fun paper trees for your holiday table or around your home.

Head on over to Kimberley to see how she is celebrating the holiday!

I wish you a wonderful, fun-filled holiday season, a very merry Christmas and an amazing 2021! (It's got to be better, right?)

We Create Blog Hop--Plaid!

The holidays are upon us again. I love seeing the change of the seasons (although, I don't really like the snow).  I love sweaters, scarves, boots and sitting by a fire.  Soon, the smell of fall will turn to the frost of winter...Christmas is just around the corner!  This is an amazing time of year where families gather and people are a little more kind. With the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I love to take a few minutes and create something fun.

This card was made with the Cable Knit Dynamic Impressions folder and the Christmas Around the World DSP. I added some black shimmer ribbon with mini sequins for some bling and then our new Green Sprigs for some fun! The Watercolor Christmas stamp set is one of my favorite Christmas sets in the Holiday Catalog. Simple images, beautiful script and you can add a cool project kit that is designed for this set.

Today, the new Stampin' Blends are available!  These markers blend beautifully and if you love coloring, these are for you!

Enjoy the rest of the hop--these ladies have great projects to share.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and that you can spend as much time as possible with those you love.

We Create Blog Hop--Gift Cards Galore

We are knee deep in the holiday season and Christmas is my very favorite of all holidays!  I love to serve, love, and share with my family and friends during the holidays. The reason for the season is the Savior, Jesus Christ and He has shown us how to love and serve others. We have opportunities every day to do things for others to bring happiness and joy, but during the Christmas season it becomes more of a focus.  This December we are trying to make Christmas more meaningful by doing service each day. You can join in by going to mormon.org to find many wonderful ideas for service that you can do. #LIGHTtheWORLD

A gift card is always an easy gift for a friend or even a stranger, but if it's given in something that's handmade, it makes it more than just a "last minute" gift.
Take a small Kraft Tag a Bag gift bag and fold it in half. That leaves two small pockets-one for a note and one for a gift card (or two different gift cards)! Add some details like a ribbon or baker's twine to hold it together.
Our Envelope Punch Board makes a perfect size pocket for a gift card. Use one of our Designer Series Paper or Stacks and punch out a bunch of these and keep them on hand...you never know when you might need one!
This idea came from my upline Jill Olsen's get together! Using some fun coordinating papers ties everything together and makes even the smallest gift card seem more thoughtful.
From simple to extravagant, these gift card pockets will make your gift card giving cheerier!!
Hand one of these to your server at lunch, your hair stylist, or your kid's teacher and see how they react!

Please stop by and say hi to my blogging friends, a kind word is always meaningful.
Enjoy your holiday celebrations! Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy 2017!

We Create Blog Hop--Candy Cane Lane

It's here! The holiday season! I love to spend time with family and Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorites. While it's been abnormally warm here for fall, the leaves are changing and there is a crispness in the air--sweater weather is here.

I had a fun time in St. George at my second upline Jill Olsen's stampin' get together. We made some fun projects and had some great mini classes. It's always a fun time at Jill's!

Just a few of the many projects that were displayed at Jill's get together.

Since life has been a bit crazy, I didn't do a stepped up or stepped over project but this project is so simple, it only takes a few minutes to do several of these cute boxes.

I used Candy Cane Lane Designer series paper for this project, but any DSP will work. Our perfect little Clear Tiny Treat Boxes are the right size for many little goodies or a small gift.

I took a sheet of the DSP and cut a 2" x 8"strip and scored it every 2". Place the strip in the box and add your goodies and DONE! I love walking the aisles of Target looking for little things to put in these cute little boxes--there's lots! Chocolate is always a good choice.
I finished it off with a tag using the tag punch with a couple of stamps from Oh What Fun photopolymer set. I embossed the sentiment and added some tiny dots of white craft ink on the berries with my stylus (thanks Jeanna!!). I also love the Candy Cane Lane baker's twine, adding a little shimmer to the package.  Since each sheet of this DSP is 12" x 12", you can get about 8 of these strips out of each sheet, that's almost 100 box liners from one pack of DSP! That's a great value!

Head on over to Tanya and the rest of the bloggers! I love what they come up with!

While I'm excited for the holidays, in the retail world I know it will start getting old in a couple weeks...wish me luck!

We Create Blog Hop--Step Up Paper Pumpkin!

Happy December! It's hard to believe it's already here!  My tree is not up, but my outdoor christmas lights are.  I will try to get the tree up this week but with my crazy schedule, I'm not promising anything!!  Right now I'm trying to get the family together for a quick photo so I can finish our annual Christmas card...much harder than it sounds. :/

Well, a bright spot in all my craziness--Paper Pumpkin! This economical subscription is a great gift for the crafter in your life or a super fun gift for yourself.  It contains all you need to create unique, exclusive projects that you can keep for yourself or share with your friends and family.  Once you are a subscriber, you can purchase any past Paper Pumpkin kits or refills while supplies last.  All your supplies are easily stored in the cute red box the kits come in so it's easy to get out and put away if you only have a small space to craft.  Also, after all your projects are completed there's very little left over supplies to store, another great space saver.
November's Paper Pumpkin kit is so festive! All the instructions come with each box of Paper Pumpkin projects and they are very simple and quick.  But, what if you want to do something different? What if you have a few extra supplies to use from the Holiday catalog?  Great news! There's a Pinterest page for each of the Paper Pumpkin kit so the fun never stops!
My first card is just the basic instructions project, no extra frills, just the basic.  I stepped up the kit by
adding a few scraps of card stock or DSP.  I made two cards and a framed decor piece that I can add to my fun Christmas decorations.

If you are interested in subscribing to Paper Pumpkin, go to PaperPumpkin.com add me as your demonstrator.  You can also give Paper Pumpkin as a gift! 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month gift subscriptions are available here! If you sign up by the 10th of each month, you receive that month's kit!  Join with your friends and have a monthly craft night to put together your projects.  It's easy and fun!

Time to stop by to see the other bloggers and their fun projects!

Question: Do you put a star or an angel on top of your Christmas tree?  I have a star on the top of my tree!  Hope you have a extraordinary Christmas holiday!

MDS Blog Hop--Winter/Christmas Traditions

The last few years I have created screen savers for my phone, this year I have done one to remind me of the reason for the season--Christ!  One of my favorite Christmas CD's for the last 20+ years has been "The Forgotten Carols" by Michael McLean.  The premise of the story is an older gentleman who has a nurse (who has lost the true spirit of Christmas) to care for him and he shares the unknown stories that occurred during the time Christ was born. The innkeeper, a shepherd who fell asleep and missed the angelic message, Handel's dream, a woman who held the Christ so Mary could sleep, as well as others.  One of the songs I love is called "Let Him In" about the Innkeeper who didn't have room for Mary and Joseph and how he regrets not allowing them to stay.
I am trying to focus more on the reason why we celebrate during this Christmas season.  I mean, I always try to focus on the Savior and His birth but I know that sometimes, with all the craziness that happens during the holiday season, I can momentarily loose sight of my focus.  My children are grown and so it's not so much about Santa and the gifts he brings--I LOVE Santa and the symbol he stands for, but as long as we remember that the giving of gifts is in remembrance of the wonderful, glorious gift we have been given by our Heavenly Father!  There is no other gift that can compare to the blessed gift of our Savior Jesus Christ!  I have chosen to surround myself as much as possible with reminders: creches, pictures, my cute little shepherd woodcut that I made with my dear friend Michelle Williams (who died several years ago), my olive wood nativity ornaments from Jerusalem, and because I'm on my phone every day, I thought I would have a quick reminder to make room for Him in my life daily.  I pray that we can all make room in our hearts and homes for the one for whom we celebrate this beautiful season!

Can you believe that Christmas is just three short weeks away!  It doesn't seem like I've been in Utah for 6 months, but it has been fun decorating my new home for the holidays.  What is a special tradition you enjoy? Favorite Christmas carol? Leave a message, I would love to hear what you like to do during the Christmas season to make it special.

We Create Blog Hop--All Wrapped Up!

I have to apologize for taking such a long break,  I started my new job at Crate & Barrel and working several evenings a week have put a damper on my blogging time.  Luckily, I had a open house last week and had prepared some packages for my displays.  Stampin' Up! has so many packaging options, the hardest part is selecting which is your favorite! (Or...you can just buy it all!!)
Our wonderful Gift Box punch board is a fabulous tool for making boxes up to 4" x 4" (using 12" x 12" cardstock or Designer Series Paper). Our Take Out box, Window box and Tag a Bag box are great pre-made boxes that just need a bit of stamping or embellishments.  Cello bags come in 4 different sizes, but my favorite is the 1" x 8" you can add pencils, pens, candy, and more.  We also carry Big Shot dies in box shapes, just like my fry box.  To top it all off, we have our new Festive Designer Kraft paper rolls and a plethora of beautiful ribbons and trims to tie everything up. You can order anytime, there is still plenty of time to receive your products before Christmas, but don't delay!

I can't wait to see what everyone else came up with this month!  It's always fun to see different ideas that I can CASE! (Copy and Share Everything...as long as you give credit to the designer!!)

Have a spectacularly creative holiday season!!!

MDS Blog Hop--Final of 2013!

It's been 2 weeks since I posted--oops!  I've just been a bit busy during this holiday season and as I sit here typing, I'm hacking like a pack-a-day smoker!  It's pretty yucky!  Anyway, I have a quick projects for the holidays, very simple and will go in a nice white frame when it's printed!
Download
I'm thinking a few little rhinestones on the tag will finish it off perfectly!  I will post finished project in a couple days when I am feeling a bit better (wink).  I used the free For You From Us tag, rose red seam binding ribbon (recolored), Naughty or Nice bows, and the overlay stamp from Then & Now digital kit.

Make sure you move on through all the wonderful projects on the hop and make sure you check out all of our past projects on our Pinterest board, next up--Julie LeBlanc! Oh, and if you have anything you want to see done with MDS next year, please feel free to leave suggestions in the comments!

Almost ready for Christmas...I think!

iPhone Wallpaper--Celebrate the Season

As much as I love my iPhone, it definitely lacks style...my style!  I can put a case on it, I can add photos and all that, but I love to personalize it even more!  Plus, I get bored really easy, so I like to be able to change things up when the mood hits!  I came up with these:

I don't know, but for some reason, this one is my favorite!! {wink} I hope you enjoy these throughout this festive season.  It's so very simple to customize your phone with MDS!  You just start out with the "customize" option and then select the size you want (Here is a list of phone/tablet pixel sizes). You can also measure your screen and input that in as well.  Once you have your size, you can save it on MDS and whenever you feel like changing up your "phone style" you can just add another page to your project, (or start over from scratch).  You just need to save your project as a .jpg file and email it to your phone!  It's very simple!  I will try to put together a video for you, so stay tuned!

I'm still trying to stay warm...I really don't want to dig out the PARKA!!  I only use that when I go to Utah (or our church's Girls Camp)!

MDS Blog Hop--Subway Art

Welcome to everyone coming from Jeanna B's blog--I'm sure you were amazed at her talent!
Last year I did a fun subway art project for Christmas and because I really did it for myself, I used the colors in my home...silly me!  I thought I'd re-do it in more bright traditional colors, since some people may like that, so here you go:
Download

I printed the original as a 16 x 20 poster at Costco, or you could print it as an 8 x 10 also.  Make sure if you upload it to a photo printer, you turn off the auto correct or it may change the colors drastically!
It was so easy to change the colors on MDS, as well as change the space between the letters for subway art (kerning), just some of the many reasons to get the software for yourself! You can try it out for free for 30 days, but at $19.95, it's a perfect gift for the crafter in your life (YOU!!!) And on top of that, Stampin' Up! is still having their MDS print product sale and several downloads are also discounted, so now is the time to do those Christmas cards you've been promising everyone!
Now, hop over to the other Julie, she recently returned from a fun trip to Disney World! LUCKY!!!
It's time for bed!  It's been a long day!
