New Texture Boutique!

A new tool for those who love embossing!!!  Presenting our new Texture Boutique!  We offered one for a limited time last year and it was so popular, Stampin' Up! decided to produce one their own in their trademark black color.  Our Texture Boutique ONLY embosses, it does not cut like the Big Shot.
Remember, that since it's Sale-a-bration time, if you purchase the Texture Boutique along with three of our exclusive embossing folders, you can pick something from the Sale-a-bration catalog for free (I suggest the Decorative Dots Embossing folder!!)  You can order these and all the rest of our great products on my website 24/7 (even in your jammies!)  I'm setting up my spring calendar, so if you are ready to PARTY, contact me.

Go make an impression!! (See what I did there???)

Sale-a-bration 2014

It's that time of year again!  Make sure you check out the new Sale-a-bration catalog to see what free stuff you can get if you purchase $50 in Stampin' Up! product.  This year, Stampin' Up! has actually put together project bundles to help you easily get your free product as well as have different projects to create.  If you are interested in hosting a workshop, you can also receive free Sale-a-bration product on top of the wonderful hostess benefits already available.  I have some dates available to schedule your own workshop, so contact me quickly.  Lastly, if you decide that you would like to become a demonstrator, now is a great time because new recruits receive $150 in Stampin' Up! products for just $99.  You have until March 31 to join, but don't wait that long, you'll want to invite your friends to have their own Sale-a-bration workshops (I can help you with that!).  Let me know what your favorite products or projects in the Sale-a-bration catalog, I'd love to hear what you think.

Enjoy your day!

MDS Blog Hop--What I'm Working On

Let's see...what I'm working on???  Nothing exciting, that's for sure!  To tell you the truth, I haven't spent a whole lotta time on MDS in the last little while.  I've used it, but mostly for blog buttons and demonstrator business stuff, so I hope as you look at my lovely blog buttons, you enjoy much of the creativity that I've done with MDS this month!!  I know, sad, huh?
I do know something exciting though!  It's my BFF Jeanna B's birthday this weekend!!  Yay, Jeanna B!!!  I have a card that is an oldie but a goodie, one of my "go to's" when I need a quick card and have rev'd it up just a bit.
The DSP on this card is from Ice Cream Parlor, which is retired (I think it was a Sale-a-bration kit) but I made my own paper to fill the candles, one of my favorite features of MDS. I didn't even make a whole page of stripes, just enough for what I needed.  Here is what I did:
I added a swatch of the DSP that I wanted to coordinate with then I would just choose the Match Color option under the punch tool in the Design Center.
When I copied and pasted all my stripes, I saved my page as a .jpg file.  The next step would be to add that .jpg file to your components of MDS (see this video for adding components to MDS).  After I created my "candle" with an elongated square punch (you could also use a photo box), I selected the Paper Fill option and found my paper.

I hope that was clear as mud...if I get some time, I will try to put a video together (not promising anything though). If you have any other questions, just leave a comment.  Now head on over to Julie L.(hopefully she gets her computer working better) and continue through the hop, when you get to Jeanna B, wish her a happy birthday (Sunday)!!!
I'm ready for bed...{YAWN} good thing I'm done!

Trying Something Different...

While I love to create, it is hard for me to spend as much time creating as I would like.  It is hard to balance all of the things I need to do with the things I want to do.  That is why I haven't posted as much lately.  I promise I will keep going and adding more creations, but it's hard to write whole blog posts about everything.  I will be sharing more creations and not as many words (I would much rather show what was created than write about it anyway). I'll throw a few personal things in every once in a while, but I think you would rather see my projects than "hear" me blab on and on.
Recently, I've seen some European demonstrators out there and they have beautiful photo templates with their creations, so I am CASEing some very talented ladies and trying something new.
Ta-da!  I'd really like to have your input, so feel free to let me know if you like this type of layout. I am just playing with these layouts, so I may change it up a bit depending on the project. Also, I'm not the best photographer, but I am trying new things, so be patient with me.
Products used:
Flower Shop Bundle
Chalk Talk Bundle
Soho Subway DSP
7/16" Natural Trim ribbon
Clear Stampin' Emboss powder

Make sure you check out my new "Current Promotions" button, it will take you straight to my Promotions page of my website. Come back Thursday for MDS Blog Hop--Yay!

Go create something!

MDS Blog Hop--More iPhone Wallpaper

Welcome to our first MDS blog hop post of 2014!  Before we get to the hop, I'll just remind you that the new Occasions Catalog is live and you can view it here.  Make sure you check it out, you won't be sorry. If you would like an actual hard copy of the catalog, please email me your address and I'll be happy to send one to you.  I've enjoyed playing with just some of the new items, and I can guarantee more will be added to my stash!!  As for our blog hop today, our theme is phone wallpaper/tablet wallpaper.  I've got two different iPhone wallpapers today, more on the humorous/snarky side.  For those of you who know me, I have a tendency to be a bit sarcastic and sassy...I know, it's hard to believe, but it's true! {wink} I also have a tendency to check my phone a ton and I really need to stop being so attached all the time.  My wallpapers are more of a reminder for me, but if you happen to have the same problem I do (or if you just have the same sense of humor as me) these wallpapers may be just what you need!!

I used Convention 2012 kit for the "You Again" background along with the Natural Composition overlay.  The background for the "Hey" is Number One kit.

Thanks for sticking around with me on this fun ride!  I really enjoy "hopping" with these great girls--they are all so talented! Make sure you check in on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays each month for more MDS Blog Hop creating and sharing.  As always, you can purchase MDS for just $19.95 which comes with hundreds of components for you to create wonderful books, pages, cards, gifts and more, or you can try it free for 30 days.  I'm pretty sure that once you try it, you will want the real thing!

2014 is gonna ROCK!!  I'm excited for the fun, exciting things this year has in store!

We Create Blog Hop--Celebrate the Everyday

Wow, it feels like forever since I posted, but it's really only been a couple weeks--crazy! I was sick for almost 2 weeks, and with the holidays in between, blogging went to the bottom of my "to do list". We purposefully postponed our blog hop until today because the new Occasions Catalog goes live today.  It's time to Celebrate the Everyday!
You are going to love the products in this catalog, they are just so much fun!  I was able to make a few projects with some of the items in the Occasions catalog, so check these out.
If you've followed my blog for any length of time, you know that I'm all about modern and bold, so these card shouldn't surprise anyone. I love the masculine look of this card.  I used Kaleidoscope DSP, Starburst Sayings and the Starburst framelits die along with Smoky Slate, Basic Black and Real Red card stock. It's an easy card, but I will definitely need to wear my glasses the next time I use those framelits.
Typography is big right now and I love the look of ampersands.  The Ampersand embossing folder is very cool and on trend.  I did a very simple card and added just a bit of bling with the Silver Glimmer paper to make it pop.
The base of this card was made by using the Simply Scored tool on Very Vanilla card stock to make the grid then with some card stock scraps (Crumb Cake and So Saffron), I used the corner rounder on my Envelope punch board and a circle punched in Tangerine Tango.  The Just Sayin' set along with the matching framelits is a great bundle to get started and has many fun sentiments.  I also love the colors of the Retro Fresh DSP (which goes with the new Retro Fresh This & That smash journal and all the stamps and embellishments that coordinate) I absolutely will be using more of this.  I hope you enjoyed these fun creations, I was just glad to get back to creating again.
It's time to move along the hop to see what Michelle has in store for you.

I hope you all had wonderful Christmas and New Year's celebrations, I know I did (even though I was sick through most of it!)  Happy 2014!!
